@AnchorHopeCut @LaurentALondres @StokeyLitFest @frankscanteen @PeteBrownBeer I remember the original Victorian horseshoe-shaped one 15 years ago or so. A shame though given internal pub spaces are no longer divided into partioned sections, difficult to justify I guess.

@annazaani The fact the council-owned 148-54 SNCS are still incomplete after 5 years due to a long running saga is a different matter. You can see in my survey of Church St which shops have been vacant and for how long bit.ly/amirstokey
Thu 06 Feb 2020 · 18:22Reply
@annazaani John’s Garden Centre and the Chinese restaurant next to Ryan’s Bar have been closed for a number of years. The owner of the boutique next to the library sadly passed away. That leaves Borough Wines, The Last Crumb and Botanique. All four did close within 4-6 weeks though.
Thu 06 Feb 2020 · 18:10Reply
@annazaani Every December a couple of shops close and tend to reopen as a new business a few months later. It’s a natural cycle. I don’t think there are more empty shops now than in the same period in the past. A new business is already moving into no. 166. That leaves 5 others out of 100.
