@StokeyLTN It’s gone quiet though as far as updates from the council about the Stoke Newington LTNs and Bus Gate. I was hoping for more frequent updates, especially regarding traffic and air quality levels. Hopefully not long now.

@FurtiveSalmon @Ebirdcards @Roger89835988 Traffic levels are being monitored and initial stats were shared by the council during a public meeting after the first 3 weeks and I hope an update is coming soon. Will be interesting to see what the data indicates as people’s experiences are subjective.

In an ETO, consultation happens in the first 6 months while it implemented to enable people to experinece it and not comment about something theoretical they haven’t experienced. Let’s see.

@FurtiveSalmon @Ebirdcards @Roger89835988 The plan is to make an assessment after 18 months once the ETO (Experimental Traffic Order) ends and see if that actually happned or not. Whether some businesses will manage to hold on till then is a different matter.

@HighburyPenguin @Stokebrewington Google Maps were informed but their maps are affected by actual driver behaviour, meaning those who drive through the Bus Gate between 7am-7pm. Anyone can submit Google Maps corrections if they spot an error/issue with any map.

@HighburyPenguin If you are referring to the signs stating the enforcement cameras are active, they were temporary and quite irrelevant really as people should follow road signs regardless of whether there’s a camera present to ‘catch’ them. Plenty of advance warning signs ahead of the Bus Gate.

@thenewlove Interesting it’s described as being in Stoke Newington given its behind Clapton Common in Upper Clapton. Most likely as N16 is seen by some as synonymous with Stoke Newington, though it covers a large part of Stamford Hill and Clapton.
