@AkashMapara Ultimately, it’s good news in my view, as the unit is reopening soon after it closed. Better than it remaining vacant for months or even years in some rare cases.

@AkashMapara From what I can find, if a new business uses a name similar to yours and causes customer confusion, you may have legal options under UK trademark law or passing off. You can consider a cease-and-desist letter, negotiation, or otherwise will need to seek legal advice.

@johnlappin Wasn’t the other Ill Bacio opposite the fire station the same owners as Express though? Or at least I always assumed they operated both sites.

@AkashMapara Not uncommon for a new owner to retain the name when they take over a business, and there are some recent examples in Church St. It’s less common when the previous business is still trading fairly locally somewhere else.

@johnlappin Well, if it’s not, then either Il Bacio is now a franchise, or the new business is hoping to capitalise on the brand equity of Il Bacio. Both seem unlikely to me personally.

@IsSaddleThereIs @TfL Given the narrow width of Stoke Newington High Street, as well as the pavements on both sides, I think the backstreet route is the best option, though some cyclists prefer to cycle on the pavement or against oncoming traffic.
