@King61B @fmp_rosie Some people have been saying similar things since the 90s. Food outlets, cafes, bistros, etc., make up only 25% of Church Street. If you walk down and count the different businesses, you’ll realise it’s much more diverse in many ways than some might think.

@fmp_rosie A new greengrocer is opening soon, a new Italian restaurant is replacing Il Bacio, Gail’s Bakery is opening soon, and a new optician may open as well. The point is, there’s always change and churn in a shopping street, driven by many different reasons.

@fmp_rosie About 5 businesses change every year in Church St. There's churn in every commercial street. The occupancy rate has been steady for years at around 95%. That's VERY impressive for a shopping street in the UK these days. 50% of the businesses in the street change every 10 years.

@patrick_mjl All I know is based on what’s on the notice on the window you’re referring to. If I’m not mistaken, it’s a writ of possession that gives a High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO) the authority to evict someone from a property.

@Penbat1 Thanks but there’s nothing additional there to what I shared in the past that Walk-In Bistro Ltd. applied for a licence six months ago. Work on the site may have halted for some reason and may resume in the new year. Let’s see.

Builders are working on the former Rasa Street site at 60–62 Stoke Newington Church Street. It’s rumoured that Gail’s Bakery will open there, which wouldn’t be surprising given that it’s a double-fronted and likely pricey commercial unit that very few independents could afford.

There are designated parking bays for hire bikes (there’s one in Woodlea Rd/Church St) but not everyone is using them.
