Apparently, a new estate agent is set to open on Stoke Newington Church St, bringing the total number on the street to 11. That would mean estate agents make up 11% of the 103 businesses there. At present, 102 businesses are operating across 107 of the 122 units on the street.

Cod & Brew at 156 Stoke Newington Church St, which closed recently, is currently being refurbished ahead of reopening. I don’t know whether it will reopen as a fish and chip shop or become something else, but it’s good to see it coming back into use so soon after closing. https://t.co/no1lrLtYOs

@nookshop_uk @TheShakeyN16 @HistoryOfStokey Yes. It confused me at first and I thought there was another space in the interior to the left but as you say, it’s the reflection.

@nookshop_uk @TheShakeyN16 @HistoryOfStokey Thanks but this photo was taken from the spot to pointed to, looking towards the bar so it’s different. What I thought was a partition in the two photos from 9 years ago, are in fact window shutters of some kind. https://t.co/aO1EEA6f8s

@TheShakeyN16 @nookshop_uk @HistoryOfStokey Nine years later... is the door on the right the one by the jukebox today? It looks like a partition on the left rather than a window so I'm trying to work out the spot. Thanks.

Follow-up: the applicant is EPU Investments Ltd, a long-standing property company, not a short-term developer. Given the small site and existing permission, any works are likely to be a modest commercial reuse, not housing. x.com/StokeyUpdates/…

A new planning update for the former Church Street Motors site in 138 SN Church St (empty since 2018) shows the developer is clearing final technical conditions, including flood safety. This usually happens just before building can begin. More here: developmentandhousing.hackney.gov.uk/planning/index… https://t.co/UeIZxEy64H
